“The Tar Heels are my heels”

Greeting everyone!           (Montrael, CA)

I hope everyone has had an amazing Easter break and I apologize for the time off from posts as road life had gotten busy for a while. Now for those of you who truly know me, you know I’m a die hard North Carolina Tar Heel basketball fan. From the way the baby blue blends with the white on the jerseys or from the way dean smith built the legacy of winning basketball now at the helm of Roy Williams. Thought I’d change the game up a little bit and talk about my favorite basketball team of all time. There have been a lot of great basketball teams that have graced my eyes but none better than the championship team that won the national title in the year 2004-2005. The 33-4 team that seen the likes of sweet shooting Rashad McCants, the inside prowess of Sean May, the length and defense of Jackie manual, the Stretch shooting as a wing forward in  juwad Williams, and players like the dynamic And lightning quick Raymond Felton and young and talented Marvin williams (2nd pick of the draft as a 6th man), two names of whom still play in the nba today (Oklahoma City Thunder and Charlotte Hornets). What makes this team my favorite is not only the fact they won the championship but the fact that they won the title in St. Louis Missouri, a city in which I was playing high school basketball at the time and had the opportunity to meet Roy Williams myself before the championship game, one of who gave me the wise words of “a player is always a player regardless of where he comes from keep at it kid”. He also told me I looked a bit “too small to play in the acc”. This quote served as the start of my motivation to want to play big time ball as well. We are all fans of certain teams or players and it is that one person we meet who jumpstart our “grind” and this is truly the encounter I will never forget in my life.  #tarheelnation
